Caring. Comfortable. Uncluttered.
These are three words that Nechako Community Church chose to reflect their new website. Read more about the site we built for them and how it reaches the community.
NCC is a church focused on serving the community in Vanderhoof, BC. With a diverse congregation looking to expand, and a desire to reach out to their neighbours, the church contacted us about our web services.
Nechako Community Church came to us looking to revamp their existing website. The site was a single page informational brochure feel, but some parts weren’t working anymore. They realized they had outgrown their old site, and were looking for a new look to invite community members and help members search for information.
With our Discovery phase, we talked with the staff about the needs and feel that the site was to convey. We decided on a soft palette of calming blues and grounding beige to express a safe and welcoming environment. Because the staff spoke of a clean, bright vision, we focused on provided white space and not overly filling each page.
Some of the new needs of the site were a page to direct church attendees to donate online if desired, a fresh new page displaying the sermons in audio files that could be updated by church staff weekly, as well as a “Midweek Connection” page, featuring a blog to be updated by the pastor throughout the month to help connect with the congregation. We took care to listen to the needs of the church to ensure we were using the right tools to make things simple for those updating the site, and accessible for those reading.
