Trustworthy. Efficient. Reliable.
When we asked Northern Roads Service Ltd how they wanted their new website to be perceived, these were some of the words they gave us.
Northern Road Service is a road maintenance and construction company based in Vanderhoof, BC. They have a variety of heavy duty equipment and vehicles for an cover it all service.
They maintain roads for large companies, but run with a family owned business model that is supported by the industry in and around this area.
The team told us it was important to them to present that they are a Safe Certified company, complying with regulations needed to secure large projects with big companies.
Northern Road Service came to us with a domain name, but no website set up. DIY website companies make it look really easy to build a new site, but the level of organisation and design needed to get the job done makes it a full project. We assured them that we could walk them through the process, in a months time, from understanding their business and specific website needs, to training them how to run the site themselves.
NRS already had a logo designed for them, so they just needed something to match and build out their own site. After hearing about wanting to appear reliable and hardworking, I presented a design featuring a rich forest green to match the logo, with a light background to create contrast. We chose a rugged font, and used different nature textures throughout the site to create interest and communicate the work they do.
We also helped the team to compile a list of the different photographs they would need to build out their website. Photography is crucial to a successful website, and they provided us with great shots of the equipment and work they do.
Part of what sets us apart as a business is how we work closely with our clients to help compile, organise, and arrange the text and photos that go on your new website. Although there aren’t many pages in NRS’s site, there is still a great deal of organising to get ensure the right elements get noticed by clients.
The equipment page is a good example of this, with galleries that show the different vehicles, display the variety of equipment in an easy to view format.
The Career page is a great example of how a website can make certain tasks easier for administration as well. Now, potential employees can be directed to the page from other sources easily, and updates are simple to make. The team was excited to learn in training how simple using the site is, and how they have full control of it now.
