Vibrant. Welcoming. Thriving.
When we asked the staff at The Gospel Chapel how they wanted the church to be recognized, these were some of the words they came up with.
The Gospel Chapel is an Evangelical Free Church here in Vanderhoof, BC. An active and growing church body, they have recently expanded to 2 services, and have an event calendar FULL of activities each week (we know – we helped create the calendar for the site!)
Their congregation is diverse group – if you check out their Ministries pages, you’ll see the variety of demographics represented!
Shaun and the staff at The Gospel Chapel approached us with a lots of vision of how they wanted to move the church forward with new branding and an updated site:
- A site that is engaging for both newcomers to town looking for a church body, as well as current church goers who need information on events
- Specific pages for downloading audio copies of sermons, and hosting a church events calendar
- A site that can grow with them as an organization, and that is easy to manage
We always start with a detailed consultation with our potential clients, ensuring that we understand what their goals are for the project, so we can present relevant solutions. Once we heard from them, we put together a detailed proposals for them to go over as a board. After acceptance, we got all the set up work done and got started on their design!
It’s such a refreshing feeling to start from scratch with a brand, and get to the roots of why the organization does what they do! Once that is established, we can get creative and pull art out of the concepts and values presented to us!
We worked through several different logo designs and ideas to get to the final concept.
The final design that was chosen was a favourite of mine. While exploring ideas, I thought of representing the text of the 4 Gospels in the 4 quadrants. It is modern, yet carries significance. We played around with several different colour palette ideas, and eventually settled on one with many earthy tones, and some calming blues.
I was thrilled with the colours they chose, as they really were reflected in the photography they had done by a local photographer. The photographer did an amazing job supplying us with the photos we asked for in a list, so that we knew we had all the photos necessary to pull the site together. We cannot speak enough about the importance of quality photography for your website, as it really elevates the entire site to another level, adds personality, and is what differentiates you from other sites.
Once the design was established, we set to work on the site itself. With the Brand Board developed, laying out all of the colours, fonts, and style to be used, now was all about placing all of the information collected into the site and arranging it.
If you have a click around the site, you’ll notice that there is a LOT of content on this site! One of the things that we worked with the staff closely with was to compile all of the information to put INTO the site. We work closely with our clients to help compile, organize, and arrange the text and photos that go on your new website. Particularly if you have a large site, keeping the content organized is crucial to keeping the project moving along.
We also offer copywriting (text content creation) services if clients are uncomfortable with writing a site – it is a TON of work, and the Gospel Chapel staff did a phenomenal job!
We implemented a new calendar for events, an online audio sermon archive, and links for their tithing site so church members can pay online. We love projects that have new challenges to tackle to streamline their tasks and information!
We also had the pleasure of creating some fun collateral items for the church, including business cards. We offer a variety of printing options, one of which is through Moo.com. We seriously LOVE their quality and options – these different designs are all part of the same pack of cards, and for a really reasonable price. They also offer spot gloss, gold foil.. the list goes on!
The Gospel Chapel now has a modern, easily accessible site, fully responsive to computers, tablets, and mobile devices. When we reached out and ask for feedback, they were kind enough to say;
“The Gospel Chapel was looking for a professional company to design a new website for our Church. Though we looked into companies in Kelowna and Abbotsford, Katie and Roei were the obvious choice for us! We were blown away by not only their professionalism, but also in their outstanding communication and creative abilities! We are thrilled with our new site and highly recommend Stanley Creative to any organization or business that desires professional results!”
